Lilly with yellow scarf

A one-of-a-kind hand sculpted art doll. I made them with air-drying clay, painted with acrylics and collage and varnished for protection.
It is 3 1/4 inches tall and 1 1/2 inches wide (8.5x3.5cm).
Signed and dated on the bottom.

- Vintage white and blue stripes cotton fabric at the bottom and off-white quilted top 

- yellow cotton fabric for the interior

- Decorated with white lace and a red felt and green crochet flower

- Closes with a vintage yellow button

- Lined with batting for support

Yesterday evening walk

 Since June we have been taken short walks around our village after dinner to keep fit and clear the head. These photos are from yesterday: pretty flowers and the old post box. The house was once the local source for the news- I remember the old lady behind the counter used to sell stamps and kept the mail. It had one of the few telephones in the village, the only way to talk to relatives in Lisbon and abroad. It must have closed thirty years ago but the post box is still used.

Desde o começo de Junho que temos ido passear depois do jantar à volta da aldeia para mantermo-nos em forma e desanuviar a cabeça. Estas fotos são de ontem: flores coloridas e a antiga caixa de correio. A casa foi em tempos a principal fonte de informação- lembro-me da senhora velhinha por detrás do balcão que vendia selos e guardava o correio. Tinha também um dos poucos telefones da aldeia, a única maneira de falar com a família e parentes em Lisboa e estrangeiro. A loja deve ter fechado à trinta anos atrás, mas a caixa do correio ainda é usada.
