Last night, while lost in the millions of images in Tumblr, I came across these, sadly without a link or copyright info :

Digging a bit deeper with a Google search, it turns out that these images belong to a lovely Spanish company that sells ethnic, colorful bohemian handcrafted bags and accessories- the World Family Ibiza.

Indagando mais profundamente com uma pesquisa no Google, descobri que pertencem a uma companhia familiar espanhola - World Family Ibiza que vende malas e accessórios feitos  à mão de tendência étnica e boémia bastante coloridos.

Busy weekend

This weekend I have been tending my organic vegetable patch, going for ( very early) morning walks, and  finishing my doll "Lulu".

Este fim de semana foi atarefado e produtivo: andei de volta da minha horta biológica, desfrutei de caminhadas matinais (logo depois do nascer do sol) e acabei uma nova boneca- a "Lulu".

My sketchbook

Usually I don't  sketch with the intention to prepare for a painting  because I tend to overdo it and end up liking the drawing more than the painting. That's what happened today: my initial idea was to make five minutes sketches and in the end one or two hours had passed .

The cat in the first photo is inspired by Chica, my cat that has been missing for two weeks now, she is always happy and is very friendly.

Normalmente não faço esboços de preparação para os meus quadros, pois tenho a tendência para exagerar e acabo por desenhar todos os pormenores e no fim, prefiro os desenhos aos quadros baseados neles. Foi o que aconteceu hoje: a minha intenção era fazer esboços rápidos de cinco minutos e acabei por divagar por uma hora ou duas.

A gata na primeira foto é inspirada na Chica, a minha gata que desapareceu há duas semanas, está sempre contente e é bastante simpática.

Illustrator: Gustavo Aimar - nunca es domingo

I have been an admirer of Gustavo Aimar's illustrations for a few years and every now and then I take a peek at his blog  to see the newest work.

He is an illustrator, artist and graphic designer from Argentina and often mixes watercolor, tempera and collage in his creations:  birds, girls and houses patiently painted over old papers. You have to go to his Flickr  photostream and see the images in their original size to appreciate properly the little details.

He has another blog that I particularly like : La mesa de trabajo where he shares glimpses of his studio and art in progress.

Há alguns anos que sou admiradora das ilustrações de Gustavo Aimar e de vez em quando dou uma espreitadela no seu blog  para vêr os últimos trabalhos.

Aimar é um ilustrador, artista e desenhador gráfico argentino  e nos seus trabalhos utiliza aguarela, têmpera e colagem: pássaros, raparigas e casas pintadas minuciosamente sobre papéis antigos. Aconselho a irem visitar a sua galeria de fotografias no Flickr e vêr as ilustrações no seu tamanho original para apreciar todos os pequenos detalhes.

Afternoon walk around the village and a quilt in progress for my kitchen big chair.

Passeio pela aldeia e um quilt que estou a fazer devagarinho  para usar no cadeirão da cozinha.

A purse (just finished!) in a vintage wool fabric that I love and flowers in my garden.

A one-of-a-kind hand sculpted art doll. I made them with air-drying clay, painted with acrylics and collage and varnished for protection.
It is 3 1/4 inches tall and 1 1/2 inches wide (8.5x3.5cm).
Signed and dated on the bottom.
